Blog number 2, ecuse the lateness, had saved forgot to post

The piece i chose to view and explain about the editing is the baptism scene in The Godfather. The scene in general through its parallel editing drives the plot of the film forward while making the end of the film more prevalent. The scene cuts from a baptism to certain hits that Michael Corleone had placed on the heads of the major crime families in New York. The scene with its cuts from each hit to the baptism also has a sort of ominous feel to it when it is put to its soundtrack. The soundtrack is the priest doing the baptism, which is also overlayed onto the hits being executed which allows the viewer to realize just how heartless the deed of murder really is. The scene also has organ music playing in the back ground which allows the viewer to realize how bad this person really could be. The shot order is perfect, and the cuts are seamless while the cuts are in the right place. The color of the shots also comes into play because it is set in a dim place but then jumps to a brightly lit place where the mafia head is being murdered. The scene is notified as one of the most powerful scenes in modern cinema while it is also seen as the staple of the godfather trilogy and franchise. The scene shows how one person could control 5-6 different people or how that one person could kill someone with out even being there.

Response to Documentary Film Maker

Honestly, im going to be short and to the point. The Filmmaker, as her name alludes me, made amazing and vision changing work. First of all her first piece kind of confused me a little and when her presentation progressed i started to understand her background and started to feel her art work a little bit more. In her other pieces her shots were impeccable and her editing was unique. Her shots were captivating the way she caught the immigrants trying to flee Mexico into the united states was very moving. Other shots she had were kind of unique and stood out alot more than most shots in documentaries would. Other than that all i really have to say is that her body of work was very moving. Honestly i had no idea how long this blog entry had to be so Dylan i hope your getting a kick of how short this is and you aren't penalizing me for it.

Media and Film in a Digital Age 2 First Blog

Sorry im a little late on the blog, i recently did not have computer access for a while. Personally there are many sites that i love going on everyday. Facebook.com, which is everyone's vice, is probably the number one site that im on everyday due to its addictive nature. Others that i will never stop going on are Imdb.com, hulu.com and indymogul.com all in part to my obsession with film and film production. Most of the things that annoy me online are popups and when you go on those certain sites that have adds that make sounds and you cant stop them. Those sites happen to piss me off the most because usually i am watching an video on said sites and i cant hear the video because i am listening to a stupid add. Many sites have actually revolutionized the world and the way that the world revolves. Sites such as google, yahoo, ask.com and even facebook have made life easier everyday for most of the worlds population along with making it easier to research and get in contact with old friends. Looking through history many inventions have done such to revolutionize the world as much as the internet has done. Its so hard to just pick one invention so if i had to pick multiple inventions i would choose the printing press, the television, electricity and the telephone. With all of these inventions the citizens of the world has had a much easier time doing what is needed to do to survive. Honestly the next biggest thing online are movies, and although movies are already online, i mean movies that are in theaters, but you will have to pay to watch them online instead of what is around today where you can watch these movies for free.
